America at the Crossroads of History: Halloween 2020

We are approaching the Crossroads of History, absolutely the biggest election of our lifetimes.

Everything is at stake.

It's four days away.

The most powerful country in the history of the planet is about to set its course for the next four years and into the future.

Our national decision will radiate across the nation, around the globe, through time, into the future.

I am afraid.  Our problems run deep.

An election will not solve our core cultural, economic, social, and personal failings.

We will wake up the day after the election, and the overwhelming world will still be with us.

The next president and our whole citizenry will have complicated challenges to address with painful solutions, all in the context of a hyper-dynamic and interconnected global village.

Whoever is in charge, it's not going to be easy.  We have mountains of work to do.

But who we choose for President (and Senators) will absolutely define the national and global future.

Just like each of us, America has the capacity today to be a force for historical good in the world, a power worthy of global encouragement, a dream country for most of the planet (yes, still).

But our core national identity is dynamic and growing. We are 330 million people now.  It's not 1950 or 1980 anymore.  We are an evolving nation in a world that has changed beyond comprehension in a generation.

We have changed too.

What we do matters. Who is in charge matters.  How we grow matters.

Actions have consequences.  Politics isn't television.  This is Real Life, not Season 5 of a Netflix series.

We have two choices for executive leadership, and we must choose one of them.

We can't mess this up.

I am ready for a better national and global future.

I am ready for America to choose the path worthy of our Founders, our greatest leaders, and highest aspirations.

I've mailed in my ballot for President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris.  I am so excited to support these two incredible Americans. They are both worthy of the work and the challenges that await them.

Now I'm waiting until Tuesday, with bated breath.

Let's go, America.  I still believe in you. I'm not giving up on you.
